Table Bar is a natural wine bar, restaurant, and bottle shop in downtown Gardiner Maine.

Table Bar is a neighborhood wine bar, restaurant, and bottle shop in Gardiner, Maine. We focus primarily on traditionally made wines, produced using a low-intervention, time-honored approach highlighting the natural features of the grapes, land, and culture behind them. We also carry beer, sake, and cider from our favorite producers from near and far. Our selections range from esoteric, rare, and

It’s the queen’s birthday!! She’s going to hate this, but it’s true Morgan Peirce is the most important person behind Table Bar. None of this would be possible, let alone 1/1000th as beautiful without the steady hand and vision of Morgan.

If she didn’t agree to be my business partner in this I’d surely be working for someone else, telling my coworker’s about my idea to start a worm farm. (Bill’s wine & worms)

Anyway if any of this post is sloppy or incoherent or unreadable it’s cause I didn’t have Morgan edit it. Everyone please wish her a happy birthday however you wish. I’m sure she’d prefer you to go out of your way and help someone else, but a simple happy birthday would suffice.

Thank you to everyone who came in last night. We sold out of everything!!! 🤯 I’ll be restocking today with fresh everything! we’re having a great time pulling this menu off.

Come on down, grab a few bottles of Barolo for your dad and order the whole menu. I’m pretty sure you can get everything on the menu for a little more than $100!!!! It’s bonkers!! Either I don’t understand pricing or you’re paying too much everywhere else. Either way C’est la vie!!

For this week’s oyster adventure, I decided to dive a little deeper. Try to give you a rare insight into my headspace on my journey to capture the elusive oyster.

The original table bar at 63 Bluxome st. in San Francisco was stacked with books. Morgan Peirce’s Aunt Jacqui remarked upon meeting me for the first time, in our living room aka the original Table Bar, that I was a book hoarder. I don’t deny my love of books. I’m most comfortable falling asleep with at least six books nearby just in case I wake suddenly and need to read something.

It’s important to point out that in days of misinformation there’s something dangerous about words that cannot be easily changed to fit the current narrative.

That is why I’ve joined forces with New York Review Books to bring something that is the only one of its nature. The folks at NYRB assured me they use to have a wine shop in the lower east side do something similar, but they have stopped. So this is a unicorn!! 1 book & 1 bottle of wine. Every two months. 1 low price.

The books will be selected from the NYRB classics publishing house. They will be paired with a wine. We will get together once every two months to discuss the selected book and the wine. If you live outside of maine, no problem Table22 and I will ship it to you!! You can join the book discussion via zoom.

The first selection will be a book that I have suggested and gifted more times than I can count. It’s a book about William Stoner, a man born to poor farmers who becomes an English professor at the University of Missouri. This book is about nothing and everything. It will have you weeping for the loss of an insignificant figure. It’s John Williams masterpiece.

The first 15 people to sign up receive a free table bar wine and book club tote bag, featuring Pearl’s drawing. You have till the end of June to be eligible to receive July’s offer.

Y’all it’s raining Trane in here!! John Coltrane that is!! John Coltrane and I share not one, but two names!! I’ll give you a guess, it’s not our last names. I’ll be here till four soaking up buckets of Trane.

As exciting as that may sound the main event is later!!! Clio Berta & Robert Pycior with be blowing minds with what I can only imagine will be the moment the doors will be ripped open to summer…

I’ve seen Bob and Clio (two different artists) take classical instruments and make music that bends your perception of what is possible with those instruments. I won’t begin to let on that I have any idea what they will be doing tonight. All I can say is it will grab you and take you with it. As I always say, THIS IS CAN’T BE MISSED, honestly the shows lined up this summer are nuts! Don’t stay home, get out and soak up some sun.
