Because here’s the punchline: ICE and CBP were the actual targets Democrats wanted to kneecap with new restrictions and oversight. But instead of surgically defunding just the agencies they hate, Schumer and the gang filibustered the clean funding bill and left the wrong government employees — the ones who actually keep planes in the air and coasts safe — working without pay while Iran openly vows to turn the U.S. homeland into a parking lot. “Defunding the wrong government employees is just collateral damage in the noble fight against border enforcement,” Schumer reportedly muttered while power-walking past a TSA agent eating ramen for the third straight week. “Who needs airport security when we’ve got strongly worded tweets and thoughts-and-prayers for the ayatollahs?” White House officials noted the shutdown — now stretching into its third week of hilarious incompetence — has left key homeland defense offices running on fumes, vending-machine change, and pure spite.
