Gallup McKinley County Schools Board of Education Meeting 06-11-2026 06/12/2026

Message from MCFUSE President Graham McNeill:

Thank you to everyone who attended last night's School Board meeting. A special thank you to those who were willing to make public comment. Speaking up takes courage, and we appreciate everyone who chose to share their experiences and concerns.

We were proud to have 6 MCFUSE members and 1 retired GMCS teacher speak during public comment. Together, they brought attention to important issues affecting our staff, including respect for employee pay and working conditions, concerns about retaliation when employees exercise their rights, and the need for greater input from the educators and staff who work directly with our students every day.

We hope our collective efforts encourage the School Board to provide more opportunities for open dialogue, allow broader public comment, and create more space for staff and community members to ask questions, share concerns, and have their voices heard.

Thank you again to everyone who attended, spoke, and showed support. Your voice matters, and together we can continue advocating for positive change within GMCS.

πŸŽ₯ Board Meeting Recording: Public comment begins around the 32-minute mark and continues through approximately the 54-minute mark.

🍎 Teacher Appreciation Week 🍎

This week is about recognizing the incredible work educators do every single day.

We see the long hours, the dedication, the patience, and the heart you pour into your students. What you do matters, and it does not go unnoticed.

As we celebrate Teacher Appreciation Week, it’s also a reminder that supporting and advocating for one another matters too. When we stand together and speak up, we help create the respect, support, and conditions that all educators deserve.

Thank you for everything you doβ€”this week and every week.
