WHY IS MY CAT NOT EATING?
Loss of appetite in cats can occur for many reasons, ranging from temporary stress to underlying medical conditions.
Potential causes may include:
🔹 Dental disease or oral pain
🔹 Gastrointestinal illness or obstruction
🔹 Chronic kidney disease (CKD)
🔹 Respiratory infections affecting smell
🔹 Medication side effects or recent vaccinations
🔹 Dietary preferences or food aversion
📌 When to call your veterinarian:
If your cat refuses food for more than 24–48 hours, or shows signs such as vomiting, lethargy, hiding, or weight loss, veterinary evaluation is recommended.
Early intervention can help identify issues before they become more serious.
🐾 Your cat may not say it out loud but appetite changes are often their way of telling us something is wrong.
