Although many of you won’t believe it, we have reached the time to move on to the next chapter of our lives. Gaithersburg Rental Center will be closing its doors in the next few weeks as the property has been sold.

Gaithersburg Rental Center(Thomas & Chiswell Inc) has been a pillar in Gaithersburg and our family for generations, and we’ve seen both the city and our family grow and change throughout the years. We want to thank all of our customers who became friends, friends who became family, and family who has supported us through it all, from the bottom of our hearts. Not only for your continuous business, but also for your candid conversations and friendliness.
Being able to support the community started out with my Grandfather in the Hardware business 88 years ago.. My father, Bill Chiswell took it over and began the adventure of Gaithersburg Rental Center. I have been honored to continue the tradition and legacy for so many years of being here to serve the community with my family by my side.

Over the years, Gaithersburg Rental Center has been able to grow and change with the community. This business was built with dedication, and the hard work of everyone involved. We appreciate everyone who has continued to support our family business through the years. We’ve been through so much together as a community including the growth of Olde Town and coming through a pandemic together.

That being said, we're excited about the next chapter, and it's bittersweet. The daily hustle, the satisfaction of seeing hard work pay off will be missed.

We’re turning the page to spend quality time in the other parts of our lives that have taken a back seat to all of the time and energy it takes to run a small business, Please come by over the next couple weeks as we clear out the building and share one more story together.
