Today is World Press Freedom Day or just World Press Day which the United Nations General Assembly declared to raise awareness of the importance of freedom of the press.

The Run for the Roses is today! 🐎🌹

These stamps were Issued on May 1, the day of the 119th running of the Kentucky Derby, this set of stamps depicts the pageantry of polo, steeplechase, and harness and thoroughbred racing.

From Apollo 8 to Artemis II 🌔

This postage stamp issued in May 1969 honors Apollo 8, which was launched from Cape Kennedy, Florida on December 21, 1968. The goal of the mission was to put astronauts in orbit around the moon, and advance toward the eventual goal of landing on the moon.

Cape Kennedy was a temporary name given in 1963 following the assassination of President Kennedy; the name was changed back to Cape Canaveral in 1973.
