"Do nothing out of selfish ambition or vain conceit, but in humility count others more significant than yourselves” Phillipians 2:4

The gospel is to be shared. This does not mean you have to travel the globe. You can share with your family and friends. Bloom where you are planted!

Today’s conversation was about donkeys. What is the first thing you think of when someone mentions a donkey? Several terms were mentioned in our virtual small group -stubborn, protector, mule, hardworking, funny noises. After reading 3 different Bible stories-Matthew 21:1-11, Zechariah 9:9-10 and Numbers 22:22-33, we realize that those personalities that sometimes are perceived as negative can really be gifts from God if we know when to apply them.
Look at the donkey in the story with Balaam. If the donkey had not been so stubborn, his rider surely would have perished. The donkey in the other two stories are the same donkey that was written in scripture as the animal worthy of bringing a King to town. And let us not forget the donkey that gave Mary a ride into Bethlehem the night Jesus was born
Think about it- when you think of the Bible and all of those chapters, being a donkey does not seem very significant, but just imagine if the donkey was not a part of the story. It would be so different. We are all like the donkey sometimes aren’t we? We sometimes feel like our parts in the story are not big enough or grand enough, but make no mistake-your role is so important even if you do not know the value of it yet.
I pray that you are surrounded with peace and love, knowing that YOU are important. YOU are valued. The story would not be the same without YOU.
Peace friends and remember that YOU are loved.

As we prepare our hearts for Palm Sunday, take a moment to remember the donkey.

Acts 1

Therefore, since through God’s mercy we have this ministry, we do not lose heart. 2 Rather, we have renounced secret and shameful ways; we do not use deception, nor do we distort the word of God. On the contrary, by setting forth the truth plainly we commend ourselves to everyone’s conscience in the sight of God. 3 And even if our gospel is veiled, it is veiled to those who are perishing. 4 The god of this age has blinded the minds of unbelievers, so that they cannot see the light of the gospel that displays the glory of Christ, who is the image of God. 5 For what we preach is not ourselves, but Jesus Christ as Lord, and ourselves as your servants for Jesus’ sake. 6 For God, who said, “Let light shine out of darkness,”[a] made his light shine in our hearts to give us the light of the knowledge of God’s glory displayed in the face of Christ. 2 Corinthians 4:1-6
