Just a reminder: this is the final week to bring in donations. We will be accepting contributions during regular business hours through December 11th. Thank you to everyone who has already donated!

This holiday season, we are partnering with Peaceful Paths to host a donation drive benefiting local families. Our office will accept donations during regular business hours through December 11th.

Your warm weather gear arrived safe and sound Saturday in Asheville! It was unloaded to a distribution center where the items will be given to people in need directly, or to volunteers who go up to places where some people are not yet able to traverse. SO MANY DONATIONS!! They filled two rooms and a foyer at the office! I could not look into every box and bag, but of what I did see, I counted almost 30 jackets, 7 or 8 sleeping bags, about 15 blankets, many many gloves and hats, a tent, and about 10 sweaters and sweatshirts. Additionally two donations were directly mailed of about 10 blankets and several jackets. More donations came in after I stopped counting! You all are awesome! That wasn’t a very long time to get everything to the office, but y’all made it happen! If you know someone who heard of the cold weather gear donation request too late, we can take those same kinds of donations until 11/18 at the office. These will go back up to Asheville in our friend’s vehicle.

We have been asked about cash donations, and the answer is yes! If you drop cash donations to the front desk Dr D will shop with them for you tonight or during lunch break tomorrow. If you like, leave your name and email and Dr D will send you a photo of what you purchased! We can also give you a receipt at the time you drop to the front desk. Thanks again!

Local Friends: If you have a couple of boxes you can give up, we could use them to pack donations. Please drop them to the office by 6:00 today or between 8:09a and noon tomorrow. Thank you!

Dr Darwin’s trusted friend who lives in Asheville is helping his community rebuild and asked what everyone needs. Outer winter wear was the answer.

We want to help!

We are collecting cold weather wear like jackets, hats, gloves, heavyweight hoodies & scarves. New, clean and “gently used”. Blankets are also needed.

We are collecting donations this week, Monday through Thursday, 8a to 6p and Friday 8a to noon. Truck leaves Friday afternoon.
