The Cooke County Library is pleased to announce that we received Accreditation from the Texas State Library and Archives Commission (TSLAC) accreditation for the State Fiscal Year 2027.

Accreditation through TSLAC has several requirements that recognize the Library’s commitment to providing quality resources and services to our community including: free public computer access, access to copies and scanning services, a searchable catalog, strategic plan, MLIS Librarian and continuing education commitment, Interlibrary Loan lending participation, weekly operating hours, written policy requirements, programming that is free and open to all, a current collection, collection size, local government support, and per capita expenditures.

Accreditation means our library is eligible for important state-supported programs and resources including: the ability to apply for grants through the TSLAC, borrowing statewide Interlibrary Loan materials (ILL), E-Rate Funding, TexShare Card and TexShare Database programs, and free Summer Reading program materials.

We had a special Bilingual Storytime celebrating Hispanic Heritage Month! We learned about some of Ms. Og's favorite treats and special items and learned to work a tortilla press using Play-Dough. We can't wait to see you all again next month on October 21st at 10:30!

We had a sweet little Storytime at Chick-fil-A Gainesville (TX) this week! We read picture books about the library to celebrate Library Card Sign Up Month. We hope to see everyone again next time on October 12th!
