Have you contacted your student loan servicer lately? A 5 min call can bring you current if you’re behind on payments.

Most people dodge the call when their financial aid loan servicer calls them because well..they don’t have the funds to make a payment. But! Speaking with them can help you. There are several options available to help, ie, deferment, forbearance or even a payment plan that can have a zero monthly payment.

Don’t dodge the call! Or if you have, call them today.

You don’t want to go into the red (where they send it off and then you’re subject to your paycheck and/or tax return being garnished.

Although today isn’t Wednesday, I wanted to get the ball rolling with our “Finance Tip Wednesdays”, with the first tip on FAFSA for college:

Parents of Seniors: if you haven’t completed your child’s FAFSA application, please do so as soon as you can. Most colleges give out other grants (free money) to those that have completed their FAFSA’s first.

Sometimes you can’t heal because toxicity is still around you...it doesn’t have to be your abuser, it can be family and friends as well. Let’s face it, unless you’ve been a victim/survivor of domestic violence, it’s hard to understand the emotions, feelings, the healing process, the decisions..and survivors need someone they can trust when they get to a point of sharing and venting. Often, friends and family don’t understand and become toxic with their words. When that happens, you can’t heal. Just like with leaving the situations, you have to learn to walk around and not be around those toxic people. You don’t need to extra blame. Love you enough and want healing enough to draw the line and free yourself of them

Not that I felt that I was better than anyone else but the situation I was in, I had only seen in movies, seen on TV shows, read or heard about in the news. But here I was, in one of those situations but look at me now! I survived! Didn’t think I would make it but I did.....And you will too!
