Big congratulations to Joel Thayer, a 2011 Cal State DC Scholars alumnus, for delivering his first-ever Senate testimony!

Joel was invited to speak before the Senate Judiciary Subcommittee on Privacy, Technology, and the Law, sharing his expertise on the urgent need for a federal privacy framework.

This summer, Macy is gaining hands‑on experience in public service at the heart of government, working in Representative Whitesides’ Washington, D.C. office. A Cal State San Diego student, she’s supporting legislative work and attending committee hearings—immersing herself in policymaking.

Wow — we’re still overwhelmed (in the best way!) from last Friday’s unforgettable celebration! This year marks 20 years of Cal State DC Scholars in Washington, DC, and we kicked it off with a truly special evening at Belle Haven Country Club in Alexandria, Virginia. The event brought together alumni, current Scholars, campus leaders, and longtime supporters to honor the incredible community we’ve built over the past two decades. With moving alumni reflections, inspiring remarks from program founder Dr. Stephen Stambough, and a shared commitment to the future, the night was a powerful reminder of the lasting impact of this program. Thank you to everyone who made it so meaningful — here’s to the next chapter! ❤️

Titans take on Washington! Thank you to Provost Dabirian and Dean Stern for visiting our summer scholars at their internship sites this week.

CSU Fullerton students, Colson, Flavio, Amber, and Anahi are interning this summer with the United Nations Foundation. This summer our students are supporting projects at UN-USA in DC through grassroots advocacy, outreach, and development to contribute to a diverse and dynamic portfolio of capabilities, tools, and platforms to help the UN build a better world for everyone, everywhere.
