Celebrate Juneteenth with a visit to the Anchors of Endurance sculpture in the Frostburg Museum courtyard. The sculpture was created by the artists, Marguerite De Messières and Tsvetomir Naydenov, in collaboration with descendants of the Brownsville/Park Ave community.
This sculpture is the first physical display to commemorate the Brownsville/Park Ave Community beyond the university and museum walls. It both recognizes the impact of the Brownsville community, while reckoning with its displacement. The sculpture features a map of Brownsville with color and textures, representing the growth and shifting boundary of the community over time. The names of Brownsville landmarks and families have been written on the sculpture using metal letter stamps. Descendants of Brownsville and their families left their mark on this historic sculpture, by hammering their family names into the steel. As new names come to light, they can be added to the sculpture.

PeopleForBikes' City Ratings measures the quality and connectedness of a city's bike network — the system of protected bike lanes, off-street paths, slow shared streets, and safe crossings that enables people to comfortably bike around a city.
City Ratings scores are released annually each summer based on results from our Bicycle Network Analysis (BNA) data analysis software that measures the quality and connectivity of a city's bike network on a scale of 0-100. The BNA assesses six factors captured in the acronym SPRINT:
