šŸ¦… THIS is one of those moments wildlife photographers hope for.

I've photographed quite a few bald eagles over the years, but this remains one of my favorite—and rarest—captures.

Look closely. It's not injured.

I caught this eagle at the exact moment it went into a full stretch, extending its entire left wing downward while simultaneously stretching out its left leg and talons.

Wildlife photography involves a lot of waiting. You can't pose the animal. You can't ask it to do that again. šŸ˜‚

You just have to be watching when that split-second moment happens.

So here's my question: What's the coolest thing you've ever witnessed a bald eagle or other animal doing in the wild? šŸ¦…

I'd love to hear your encounters—and bonus points if you have a photo. Post it in the comments! šŸ“·

šŸ DID YOU KNOW? — Nature

Those incredible reds you see in fall leaves aren't produced by the same pigments responsible for the yellows and oranges.

Carotenoids produce yellows and oranges, while anthocyanins produce reds and purples. As the days shorten, chlorophyll production slows and all those other colors become part of the show.

Which wins for you: šŸ”“ red, 🟠 orange or 🟔 yellow fall foliage?

What if your brain doesn’t create consciousness?
What if it receives it, filters it—or limits it?
And what if the body is simply the container that allows consciousness to experience this physical world?
I don’t know the answer. But the more I explore consciousness, the more interesting this question becomes.

Mountains or ocean?

You have to live beside ONE for the rest of your life.

šŸ”ļø Mountains
🌊 Ocean

Which are you choosing—and what makes that place feel like home to you?

We spend a lot of time talking about everything that’s wrong with the world.

But what if we’re missing what’s happening right in front of us?

This morning, watching Starship orbit the Earth, I had one overwhelming thought:
What an amazing time to be alive.

And I think the next 5–10 years could be unlike anything we’ve experienced before.

🌌 HAVE YOU EVER SEEN THE NORTHERN LIGHTS WITH YOUR OWN EYES?

There are some nights as a photographer that you know you're going to remember for a very long time.

This was one of them.

Standing along the Shenandoah River and watching the sky take on colors that we normally associate with places hundreds or thousands of miles farther north was pretty incredible.

And then seeing the camera capture colors and detail that my eyes couldn't fully see made it even better.

So I'm curious…

Have you ever seen the Northern Lights? If so, WHERE were you?

And if you haven't—where would you want to go to see them for the first time?

⛳ Did you realize we have FOUR golf facilities right here in Warren County?
From championship-style mountain golf to a historic course along the Shenandoah River, there’s a lot more golf here than we probably give ourselves credit for.
And that creates another opportunity for tourism.

ā€œThere’s nothing to do here.ā€
We hear it all the time in Front Royal and Warren County.
Yet people travel hundreds—or thousands—of miles to vacation here.
So what are visitors seeing that we’ve stopped noticing?
