Almost three years ago, Michelle Guerrero became my right hand, and I don't know how I ran this place before her.
She leads client relations, which means when an agent has a question, Michelle is already ahead of it. She's my ride or die, the one I call when a day goes sideways, the one I trust with the relationships that matter most. Our agents feel that, even the ones who've never met her.

Amazon opened up LTL to every business last week. 80,000 trailers, any destination, a portal open around the clock.
A company that size competes on scale. The independent agent competes on something a portal can't copy, which is knowing the freight and the people behind it. Knowing the receiver closes early on Fridays. Catching the wrong charge before it bills. Picking up the phone when something goes sideways.
That's the agent's job, and it's the part we protect. We never own the relationship. We just make sure the agent has the room to keep it.

A quote request comes in and the agent is already on the phone, two more loads to cover
before lunch. By the time they get to it, somebody else quoted it first and the load is gone.
That's the week a lot of agents are having right now, with the market this tight. So we made the quote somebody's actual job. It comes to a specialist who knows the lane, gets priced right, and goes back in under 20 minutes, while you stay on the phone with your customer. You don't have to choose between selling and quoting.
That lands on the agent's own choice instead of a wrap-up line. The LinkedIn and Instagram versions stand as drafted.

The freight market got harder this week, and it's the kind of week that pulls an agent under if they let it. Rejections near 14 percent. Re**er climbing into produce season. And on Wednesday, Amazon opened up LTL to every business in the country.
When something that big enters a lane, the independent agent doesn't win on size. They win on being the person who knows the freight and picks up the phone. You can't be that person when you're buried in operations. That's the part we carry, so the agent stays in front of their customer.

There is a lot of buying happening in freight right now. Private money is scooping up agencies, and the offer to independent agents is always the same. Come under our roof. We will handle the back office for you.
Here is the part they leave out. The price is your book. The customers you spent years earning stop being yours.
It happens to good agents. A longtime agent partner got fully absorbed into a larger company just this year. Built something real, and now it sits inside someone else's name.
There was always supposed to be another door. You can get the back office without selling the business you built.

Everybody in freight is selling AI right now. Every tool has a sticker on it.
Here is the part that does not make the sales pitch. The software can draft an email. It cannot catch the appointment that quietly fell through. It cannot hear that a load is about to go sideways and pick up the phone. People do that.
We use the tools, and they help. They take the routine stuff off our team's plate so they can spend their time on the part that matters. The call. The catch. The customer.
AI handles repetitive work. People handle the work that needs a person.
