Did you know that there are structures in the nervous system that function to inhibit sensations of pain on certain sides of the body?
When you delve into neurology and understand how the nervous system developed, you will see that the lower a structure is in the brain, the older it is. The higher it is, the newer it is. And what’s important is that new structures can inhibit older structures! This knowledge help us integrate more systems in rehab & performance to facilitate greater change in pain
We need to be precise and engaged with our rehab if we want to target specific areas of our brain through our body in order to facilitate these changes. It’s not all about imbalances in the body, but how does lack of stimulation through movement affect certain parts of the brain? Come to an IKN course to learn more!
