White Oak, a robust hardwood from the Northern and Eastern U.S., is valued for its durability and versatile beauty. Known for its tactile grain and distinctive “flecking” in rift-sawn pieces, it is a top choice for architectural elements and fine furniture.
White Oak is adaptable in its uses, from traditional furniture and flooring to modern designs and even outdoor settings, thanks to its moisture and decay resistance—qualities that also make it ideal for making wh***ey barrel staves.
At NWH, we offer a range of White Oak thicknesses and grades from both the Glacial and Appalachian regions, tailored to meet the needs of manufacturers.

Warm, natural, and beautifully modern.
This stunning kitchen shows how Alder can bring natural warmth and character to a contemporary space. The wood’s fine, straight grain and subtle color variations create visual depth while keeping the overall look clean and refined.
A versatile hardwood that adapts to diverse aesthetics and styles, Alder is a natural choice for cabinetry that feels both timeless and distinctly modern.

Warmth is winning…
MasterBrand Cabinets 2027 cabinetry trends point to a continued shift toward richer, more natural kitchens, with wood finishes playing a bigger role. For the first time in 15 years, medium stains have moved into the top spot alongside light wood stains and creamy off-whites. Designers are also seeing greater interest in texture, natural materials and spaces that feel warmer and more personal.
Our take: This is about more than a shift in color. As homeowners look for warmth, texture and individuality, the natural grain and character of real hardwood become part of the design itself. And with a wide range of species, grades and appearances to work with, hardwood gives designers more ways to create spaces that feel distinctly their own.
