Here’s some finished work on the dump trailer. It had a flush cut brake wire that I needed to fix. I was able to get just enough wire to solder on and make the repair without pulling the drum. And there’s the magic number, 1 ohm. Exactly where it should be on a two axel trailer

I went to assess what was needed to get this trailer DOT compliant so he can get it written off by CHP.
I did a troubleshoot on this Western plow that’s leaking hydraulic fluid and diagnosed an inoperable horn on this Transit (dealer only part apparently).
What a beautiful day for field work!

I forgot to post this guys van build. He brought me in to do some wiring, get some parts ordered, and went back to install. He made a lot of progress in the time that took and is lookin good for his adventure!
This is a wave form from the CPS in my Ranger. It’s been intermittently throwing a check engine light and thought I’d put the scope on it. Looks good sitting so may need some driving with it hooked up.
I thought I’d share this because this truly is the heartbeat of the vehicle. It tells the ECU where the crank position is in order to send ignition pulses to the coil pack.

2005 Toyota Tacoma TRD
I have a client that has a random CEL on for vehicle speed sensor. Reported by several modules in the truck. The Topology doesn't give me an option to read the cluster so I needed to scope the VSS and cluster in/output to find out what the problem is. the input signal was fine 100% of the time, but the output started fluttering and started having dead spots after a bit.
100% a cluster problem and the new one is ordered.
I hate throwing parts at vehicles!! I need confirmation...
This was a fun job! I got to ride shotgun with the dash torn apart, two tablets, and an oscilloscope in my lap for a road trip. And play with the new toy.

I added a waterproof plug and NOCO trickle charger to the CRV today. Gotta take advantage of that downtime when you can.
