Core Beliefs
We believe:
Every student is uniquely capable and deserves to be challenged each day. Uninhibited learning depends on a safe, nurturing, inclusive and flexible environment. An educated citizenry is essential for equal opportunity and a prosperous society. Critical thinking and problem solving today are necessary for students to be equipped for future challenges. Genuine transformation requires disruptive innovation. Education is the shared responsibility of the community.
♟️ Chess Club has officially begun at Hicks Elementary! Our students are having fun learning, practicing, and putting their strategic thinking skills to work. We’re excited to see their skills grow!

🧱✨ 2nd Grade Matter Challenge! ✨🧱
Our 2nd graders put their creativity and science skills to work by combining smaller units of matter—like building blocks—to create a new object!
Students designed, built, and explained the purpose of their new creation, showing us that science and creativity go hand in hand! 🔬💡
Way to go, 2nd grade scientists! 💙💛
fantastic time at the LISD Aquatic Center learning about water safety! 🏊♀️🏊♂️
Our students learned important safety skills and practiced ways to stay safe in and around the water. We are so proud of our second graders for being such great learners! 💙💛
A big thank you to the LISD Aquatic Center for helping our students build these important, potentially lifesaving skills! 🌟

Our Treat Trolley made its rounds today, bringing a little sweetness to our hardworking Timberwolves on 9-25! 🛒🍬✨
In honor of Dolly Parton and her iconic 9 to 5 — because our staff works hard every day, and they deserve a little treat especially on 9-25! 🐺💙
