Frisco Mayor Cancels Public Input Due To "Outside Agitators"
This is the message from Mayor Jeff Cheney:
"A quick update on a change in our public input process. Last night we did not have public input for non agenda items nor will we have it for the foreseeable future.
While the city charter tasks the Mayor with running the meetings, this was a decision supported by the entire council.
Public input is an important tool in the governing process and will continue for posted agenda items. We also have numerous other ways of gathering public input.
For instance, Monday night we had another successful town hall where we answered dozens of questions and received numerous feedback for nearly 2 hours. We broadcast this on Facebook, call out to all phone numbers, and host people in person. We have citizen driven committees and boards, have started doing more robust citizen surveys, do community work shops, as well as receive calls and emails on a daily basis. Adding a placeholder on our agendas has been just another tool over the years. Historically, we would have a couple of people so it did not interfere with the ability to conduct our regular business.
We have also had a long history of respect and decorum in our council chambers.
Recently we have seen an influx of outside agitators wanting to use Frisco taxpayer resources to create their content for their own personal agendas or political gain.
Most of the disrupters do not live in Frisco and many not even in the State. They have not been following our decorum rules and many cases their comments had nothing to do with city business or things we have no control over.
The council has heard from many residents they wanted us to do something about the narratives they thought that did not reflect the heart of Frisco.
While we have tried to balance the ability of the public to speak there will be a zero tolerance policy going forward. Anyone causing disruption, not following our decorum rules, or circumventing our public input process will be removed.
I want to commend our Frisco Police Department for keeping everyone safe last night as they honored people’s 1st amendment rights to assemble and made sure everyone remained safe. "

Jake Lang has been booked in the Collin County jail.
Recent videos show him at a "Rally Against Rednecks" rally at Frisco City Hall.
Jake Lang, an indicted Jan 6th Capitol attack participant, gained attention recently at a Frisco City Council meeting for his rants including pointing at City Council members and saying, “You all deserve to be strung.” He also said, “If I lived in Texas, I would burn down one of these f**** mosques, right outside my house. You should do the same.”

UNT Pulls Sponsorship From Denton Pride Events, Citing SB17
UNT has withdrawn its sponsorship from Denton Pride events, saying the university’s involvement did not comply with Texas Senate Bill 17. Pridenton organizers say the move came after someone complained about UNT’s logo appearing on promotional materials, and that the university pulled support for event costs including materials and a civic center rental. The nonprofit says the June events will still move forward, but criticized UNT for what it called “overcompliance” with the state law.

Rod Vilhauer accuses Mark Hill of not honoring pledge, posts fake AI photo
Rod Vilhauer has posted on his social media accounts that fellow mayoral candidate Mark Hill has not paid a $2,500 pledge sponsorship to the Marine Corps League, a non-profit dedicated to serving Marines and their families. Vilhauer writes on social media: "According to the Marine Corps League, Hill committed to the sponsorship, attended the event, and has since ignored repeated attempts to collect payment over the last six months."
Vilhauer did not name the contact within the Marine Corps League who was the source for this accusation.
Attached to Vilhauer's social media post is an AI or Photoshopped image of an award with Mark Hill's name on it.
The faked image includes added text that says: "Sponsorship paid for by Rod Vilhauer for Frisco Mayor -- thank you for supporting Veterans Rod!"
The Facebook post did not disclose the image was a fake image, and it was not immediately obvious until the original photo was tracked down and posted for comparison.
Photos of the real photo, faked photo, and additional real photo for reference are attached to this post.

Centennial High Principal’s statement about the band tower collapse:
“Centennial Community,
This evening, an old band tower on our campus collapsed, and several young people that had been climbing the structure were injured and transported to local hospitals.
Our hearts are with these young people and their families during this difficult time, and we are keeping them in our thoughts.
The Frisco ISD Maintenance Department is working to secure the scene including installing an orange safety fencing around the perimeter of the structure. The Maintenance Department will dismantle the structure. In the meantime, we ask that the community not approach the area.
Please keep all of these young people in your thoughts. While we know many in our community are concerned, due to student privacy, we cannot share details regarding the students or their conditions.
I am grateful for the partnership we share with the Frisco Police and Fire Departments, who were quick to arrive.
Sincerely,
Kiara Henderson
Principal, Centennial High School”
