Multi-Generational living is increasingly popular for several reasons. They are used as guest quarters, father/mother-in-law suites, etc. Some are detached, some included in the home, and dog trot homes are also an option. The Dawn Dog Trot plan is 2 separate living quarters connected by shared porch and breezeway. It allows the structure to be taxed as one home but provide individual living spaces.
