James Casey Bussard
May 29, 1980-June 12, 2026

Thank you for attending our celebration of the remarkable life of my husband, James Casey Bussard, a man whose warmth and generosity touched everyone fortunate enough to know him.

Casey lived life fully and wanted everyone around him to do the same. His philosophy was simple: life was meant to be experienced, and nothing but the best would do. He wanted those he loved to see what he had seen—the mountains, beaches, boats, hiking trails, fishing spots, golf courses, and extraordinary meals. He found joy in nature and often said that it was his church because it was where he felt closest to God. He loved every part of the outdoors: the rain, the moon and stars, every sunrise and sunset, and especially a good thunderstorm. Few people have ever been as excited to watch a weather radar or simply sit and admire the sky.

People often say, “I’d give you the world if I could.” Casey actually did. He spent his life creating experiences and memories for those he loved.

Our story began during Hurricane Harvey. Casey was a widower when we met, having lost his beloved wife just six months earlier. He was staying with friends who lived next door to me at the time. My house flooded, theirs didn’t, and after the storm I jokingly asked if he wanted to help rip out sheetrock. What followed was a relationship that moved with the speed of an airplane at full throttle.

During our nine short years together, it felt as though we traveled around the world five times over. Casey was one of the most generous people I have ever known. You weren’t going to dinner without him insisting on paying for the entire table—and sometimes even the table next to us. Yet he never wanted recognition for his generosity. He preferred to give anonymously, simply because helping others brought him joy.

His generous spirit extended into every part of his life, including one of his greatest passions: aviation.

Casey flew an airplane before he ever drove a car and remained passionate about flying throughout his life. He cherished the aviation community and the many friendships he built through it. The skies were truly one of his happy places.

As much as Casey loved flying, nothing mattered more to him than his family. He loved us fiercely. His greatest goal in life was to make sure we would always be taken care of, and he surpassed that goal beyond anything we could have imagined.

The days ahead will be difficult, and there will be moments when the grief feels overwhelming. “Good morning” will never sound quite the same. Morning coffee will never be the same. Every single day, Casey made my coffee, and no matter how long we sat together, he would always say, “One more minute—we’re not done yet.”

Although our chapter together lasted only nine years, every one of us is better because Casey was part of our lives. He left us far too soon, and we will miss him deeply. Yet his legacy lives on, especially through our daughter, Brynnlee Sky.

When she carefully lines up her shoes in a perfectly straight row, that’s Casey. When you tell her she can play with unicorns and eat chocolate on the most beautiful beach in the world, but she’s more excited about riding in the big blue airplane—that’s Casey, too. Pieces of him live on in her every day.

Casey loved deeply, gave generously, lived fully, and made every life he touched better. While I mourn the loss of a remarkable husband, and we mourn the loss of a remarkable father, friend, pilot, and true gentleman, we find comfort in knowing that we will see him again in paradise. Until then, we will carry his love, his lessons, his laughter, and his adventurous spirit with us always.

With much love,

Christina Lynn Bussard

Brynnlee Sky Bussard

Casey was preceded in death by his Mother, Janis “Karen” Bussard.

Casey is survived by his wife, Christina Bussard and daughter Brynnlee Bussard. Father, James “Dillon” Bussard & wife Cindy Bussard. Sister, Amanda Smith & husband Tommy Smith. Nieces Ava Sholders & Olivia Smith. Twin Brother, Alan “Corey” Bussard.

Mother In-Law, Pam Dugdale. Father In-Law, Joe Harris.

William G. Ivey Jr.
August 24, 1943-June 15, 2026

William Garland “Bill” Ivey Jr. passed away on June 15, 2026 surrounded by the love of his family. Born on August 24, 1943 in Houston, Texas, Bill spent his formative years growing up in Galveston and Texas City.

Bill attended Lamar University, beginning a long and accomplished career in the marine transportation industry. His professional journey spanned decades and included leadership roles that helped shape the industry he devoted his life to. He came to Kirby Corporation through the acquisition of Alamo Inland Marine in 1989, where he served as Executive Vice President of Sales and Marketing until 2011. In 2014, he became President of Kirby Inland Marine and the Marine Transportation Group, concluding a distinguished career marked by leadership, loyalty, and lasting professional relationships.

The measure of Bill’s life was not found in the positions he held, but in the people who loved him. His family was his greatest pride.

Bill met the love of his life, Sandra Leigh Jones, on a dance floor. Dancing quickly became one of their favorite pastimes, and what began with a dance blossomed into a remarkable love story that spanned more than 60 years of marriage. Together they built a life rooted in faith, friendship, family, and unwavering devotion to one another. Through every move, every career change, every success and challenge, Sandra was his partner and best friend. Their family often reflected on Sandra’s words: “Our faith, family, and friends are what life is all about.” Those words became the foundation upon which they built their lives.

Bill was loving, supportive and dependable as a father to Randy and Krista. He was present for them through all of life seasons. Randy enjoyed joining him in fishing, hunting, and other sports. Some of his favorite memories were fall weekends traveling to the deer lease after football games, waking up early for hunts and making the drive back home before Monday. Randy has been thankful to have spent time with him over the past 5 years, including many McDonald’s breakfasts. Krista said her dad was her biggest fan. He was always present and supportive in whatever she was doing. He believed she could do anything and showed her what a loving loyal husband and father looked like through his actions and unconditional love. He was her hero and she will forever miss him.

To his grandchildren and great-grandchildren, Bill was simply Pops. He was the one they could count on. He was steady, dependable, and always present. He attended ballgames, school events, celebrations, and milestones both big and small. He loved family gatherings, tolerated countless sleepovers, and could always be counted on to ask when dinner would be ready before settling comfortably into his favorite spot. The simplest moments often became the most cherished memories.

Some of Bill’s happiest days were spent outdoors. He loved fishing, hunting and golfing with his son, son-in-law, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and lifelong friends. He was also a devoted Astros fan and looked forward each year to attending Astros Spring Training with his work friends, creating friendships and memories that lasted a lifetime.

Bill possessed a lifelong competitive spirit. He played baseball growing up and later focused on basketball and tennis in high school. Throughout adulthood, he remained active in men’s softball leagues, competitive racquetball, and golf. His love of baseball extended beyond the field as he spent many years coaching Pony C**t and American Legion baseball. He was known as a disciplined coach who expected effort, accountability, and excellence, but beneath that tough exterior was a man who genuinely cared about the young people he coached. Many former players remained in touch with him for decades, often stopping by just to visit—a reflection of the lasting impact he made on their lives.

A devoted man of faith, Bill served faithfully within his church community as a trustee and member of the Staff-Parish Relations Committee. His faith was not simply something he believed—it was something he lived. In a meaningful reaffirmation of that faith, Bill chose to be baptized again as an adult, publicly renewing his commitment to Christ and to a life of service. His church family was an important part of his life, and he found great purpose in serving others.

Those who knew Bill best often described him with the same words Sandra used when speaking about him: friend, leader, dignified, caring, humble, inspiring, sincere, friendly, kind, respected, genuine, honest, and a servant of God. He was a man of integrity whose actions spoke louder than words. He led by example, loved without condition, and quietly made those around him feel valued and supported.

Bill was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 60 years, Sandra Leigh Jones Ivey; his parents, Evelyn Copple, Leonard Copple, William G Ivey; and his brother who he talked to almost daily, Stan Ivey.

He is survived by so many who loved him deeply: his son, Randy Ivey and wife Toni Tagliarino; his daughter, Krista Johnson and husband Randy Johnson; and the grandchildren and great grandchildren Heather Ballard and husband Brian Ballard, and their children Landon and Caroline Ballard; Hunter Ivey and wife Kelsey Ivey; Dr. Hayden Ivey and wife Dr. Jordy Geiler; Madelyn Vitolo and husband Cole Vitolo, and their children Palmer and Beau Vitolo; Jacob Johnson; and Meredith Johnson. He is also survived by additional family members who held a special place in his heart, including Lisa Ivey-Liverman and husband Stephen Liverman, the Caroline Ivey family, Vicki and Bill Lehner, and Jennifer and Colin LaForge and family, the Hampton family and the Dupuis family.

Above all, Bill’s greatest accomplishment was the family he loved so fiercely. He leaves behind a legacy not measured by titles or achievements, but by the lives he touched, the values he instilled, and the generations who will carry his example forward.

The family finds comfort knowing Bill is now reunited in Heaven with his bride Sandra, the love of his life. After nearly four years apart, they are together again—perhaps sharing another dance.

Pallbearers will include Hunter Ivey, Hayden Ivey, Jacob Johnson, Brian Ballard, Landon Ballard, and Cole Vitolo.

Friends and family are cordially invited to the funeral service on Saturday, June 20, 2026, with visitation from 10:00-11:00AM and the service beginning at 11:00AM at Alvin Methodist Church, 611 W. South Street Alvin, TX 77511. Interment will follow at Confederate Cemetery, 998 Dickinson Rd Alvin, TX 77511.

Tracey Annette Walser
October 9, 1965-June 10, 2026

A woman known by so many people: from the air conditioning industry to law enforcement, to fugitive hunting and profiling, to hot air balloon enthusiast. However, she was most well-known for her work in the animal rescue world having been involved in rescue organizations as well as shaping team members to help educate and train others. She was a giant and one of the Titans in the animal rescue and adoption world.

Tracey and her beloved husband, Carl, were married on September 4, 2010. They supported each other in every interest and project, becoming an amazing power couple. Carl will continue supporting the animal rescue and all the volunteers as Tracey wanted.

Although Tracey never had children of her own, she was always the caretaker for everybody, including her mom Shirley, step dad John, her aunt Carma, aunt Barbie and both of Carl’s parents Elton and Rose.

Tracey touched so many lives as she helped teach rescuers and adopters alike throughout her life and will be so dearly missed by her loving husband Carl Glaze, her nieces Charleen, and Michelle, her cousins Ryan and Courtney, and her Stepdaughter Jessica, as well as every member of Gulf Coast Tiny Paws Rescue and many, many other friends.

It is Tracey’s desire for Gulf Coast Tiny Paws Rescue to continue forward in her memory, and we are asking in lieu of flowers to donate to Gulf Coast Tiny Paws Rescue in her memory in order to continue with her plan for GCTPR at Https://gulfcoasttinypawsrescue.org/donate.

A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date to be announced.

Marguerite Mary (Vigneron) Stonesifer
July 14, 1929-June 8, 2026

Marguerite Stonesifer of Pearland, Texas, passed away peacefully surrounded by loved ones on June 8, 2026. Only 3 weeks since her beloved, John Stonesifer, husband of 70 years, went to be with our Lord, they are once again reunited in heaven. Marguerite’s love as a mother, grandmother and great-grandmother will endure and shape the lives of her family for generations to come.
Marguerite was born to Arthur William Vigneron and Allene Genvieve Bagard in 1929 in Buffalo, New York, as the 6th of 7 children in a family rich with French culture and traditions. Always with an adventurous spirit, she and her older sister left the snow and moved to Miami. Marguerite worked as a secretary while she and her sister enjoyed the warm weather and even vacationed in Cuba. Miami beach is where she crossed paths with John while he was in the Navy and attending the University of Miami. She recently revealed that she approached Dad first as he knew many of the people there, but he did not know her! Marguerite was planning employment abroad with the US State Department when that aspiration was exchanged for an engagement to John who sold his BMW motorcycle to buy her a ring. They married in January of 1956 in Buffalo and honeymooned at Niagara Falls.
And so it began – Marguerite’s life dedicated to her faith, husband and children. After the birth of their oldest son in Miami, John and Marguerite moved to Hampton, Virginia where John helped usher in the establishment of NASA as a part of the Space Task Group. There they welcomed a daughter. After strongly encouraging John to accept a new trailblazing opportunity, they then moved to Houston for the formation of NASA’s Manned Spacecraft Center, now the Johnson Space Center.
Marguerite flourished as a devoted homemaker and mother, welcoming another son and daughter in Texas. She also shared her Catholic faith with her children and the community. The family attended mass in Dickinson while the 2 oldest children were enrolled in the church’s school. Desiring to attend a church closer to home in Friendswood, Marguerite collaborated with other parishioners to help establish Mary Queen Catholic Church.
Marguerite and John modeled values of respect, integrity, and compassion while sharing unconditional love. Marguerite was known to sew clothes for her daughters and granddaughter, design Halloween costumes for all the kids, and create beautiful, joyful holiday celebrations-most notably on Christmas Eve. And who can forget all the delicious Christmas cookies she made?! Many of her children and grandchildren acquired her love of reading, commitment to physical fitness, and appreciation for cleanliness and organization. She also enjoyed stimulating her mind with crossword puzzles and daily viewing of Wheel of Fortune. In her later years, you could see her zipping (cautiously) to church and the grocery store in her 1999 Porsche 911. And her sharp wit and dry sense of humor were evident until the end.
After the children were grown, Marguerite was always scheduling the next adventure for her and John. They traveled the world visiting 95 countries. John was amused by her souvenir shopping even in the most remote places. Marguerite lovingly cared for 8 grandchildren and embraced 11 great-grandchildren. She preserved all of the wonderful travel and family memories in beautifully curated photo albums.
Marguerite is survived by her four children and their families: Kurt (Laney) Stonesifer, Karl (Kristian) Stonesifer & Ares, Connor Stonesifer; Marlene (Michael) Grivon, Nicole (David) Ray, Lucas & Andrew, George (Emily) Grivon, Michael, Joanna & Evangelos; Alex (MaryMichael) Grivon, Olympia & John Michael; Greg (Ashley) Stonesifer, Kyle (Samantha) Stonesifer & Reece, Pierce (Anna) Stonesifer & future baby boy; Jill (Brad) White, Harrison Stonesifer (Samantha Armstrong), Maxwell & Remy and Hailey White.
Our family extends its deepest gratitude to Mom and Dad’s devoted caregivers—Melissa, Olga, Mery, Ashley, Stephanie, and Blanca. Your love, compassion, and selfless dedication to our parents were nothing short of heroic. We will always remember the kindness, comfort, and dignity you provided during their most vulnerable times. You were a tremendous blessing to Mom and Dad and a source of comfort to our family.
Friends and family are cordially invited to the Visitation on Monday, June 15, 2026, from 6:00-8:00 PM at Jeter Memorial Funeral Home, 311 N. Friendswood Dr. Friendswood, TX 77546. A funeral mass will be held on Tuesday, June 16, 2026, at 10:30 AM, at Mary Queen Catholic Church, 606 Cedarwood Dr. Friendswood, TX 77546. Interment will follow at 12:30 PM at Forest Park East Cemetery, 21620 Gulf Fwy, Webster, TX 77598.

Suzanne Marie Cope
April 7, 1980-May 28, 2026
Suzanne Marie Cope, our beloved daughter, was born April 7, 1980, to Richard Cope and Jane Storey Cope. Suzanne passed away on May 28, 2026, after a valiant fight with cancer. She was diagnosed with cancer in the fall of 2025. She was very private about her disease and her struggles with it. She fought the good fight.

Suzanne is survived by her mother Jane Ellen Storey Cope and partner Danny, and father Richard J. Cope Jr. and wife Debra Legge-Blair Cope, and her fiancé Ryan Perry.

Suzanne had the good fortune of being born into a very large family with six aunts and uncles who loved her dearly: Michael Storey (Benny). Mary Anne Foster (Tom), Molly Truitt (Noal), Susan Storey Cutaia (Louis), Kelly Storey, Joanna Perkins (Terry). She has eleven cousins: Eileen, James, Clay, Emily, Amy, Kate, Beth Anne, Drew Mark, Erin and Barrett who became her playmates as they all grew up together and shared many a family holiday with her grandparents Lillian and Jim Storey.

Her father, Rick Cope, married Debra Legge-Blair Cope and Suzanne gained three stepbrothers and their wives who loved her dearly: Jason Legge (Andrea) and their children, Jerred Legge (Sheila), and Justin Legge (Lauren) and their children. They also shared holidays and memorable vacations together that gave Suzanne beautiful memories and the feeling of being loved and cherished.

Suzanne was a determined, intelligent, adventurous, and an athletic girl who loved hiking, skiing, river rafting, playing soccer on the very first girls soccer team at Friendswood High School as a midfielder. Her team made the playoffs with the help of the girl’s coach Ms. Peters. She also has a white-water rafting license and was a ski instructor. She loved spending time hiking with her dad and stepmom in Colorado. Also riding horses with her family on Mr. Hollingsworth farm in Schulenberg, Texas. Her dad loved his “Roo”. His memories of traveling with her will always be treasured by him and her stepmom.

Suzanne and her mom traveled to many exciting places on a Mediterranean cruse with Grandma Cope. Jane and Suzanne visited Scotland, Ireland, and England. These beautiful memories will be held in her mom’s heart always. A lasting bond was created between them traveling with her “muffin” was Jane’s greatest joy.

After high school graduation, she attended Southern Methodist University, which was her dads, Alma Mater. She was a member of the Delta, Delta, Delta Sorority. She transferred to the University of Colorado in Boulder, CO. She completed her Bachelor of Science in Journalism, and then went to work for the Rocky Mountain News in Denver until the paper closed.

Suzanne earned her teaching certificate and began her career at Burbank Middle School in HISD. Later she transferred to Spring Brand ISD, and then Fort Bend ISD. She followed in her mothers’ footsteps by becoming a teacher. She loved her students and could tell the funniest classroom antics she has to handle with some of the rowdy students. She also went on to teach in Spain and China and lived in France for a short time. She was definitely a wanderlust with her free spirit and tremendous curiosity.

Our entire family owes a great deal of love and appreciation to Ryan Perry, her fiancé. He was by her side for every need. He tirelessly cared for Suzanne with cooking, doctor visits, and loving companionship. He was her rock with very broad shoulders to help her carry her burden. No one could have done more, and he has a very special place in our hearts and will always be considered a part of our families. God bless you, Ryan. You will forever be remembered as her dedicated loving partner and friend.

The family would like to extend a very special thank you to aunt Susu (Susan), her sweet cousin James Storey, and Erin Perkins Satsky. Erin went into super RN mode! She was able to arrange hospice care in a matter of hours. She’s an angel who brought comfort and needed care to Suzanne and her family during this incredibly difficult time of deep sorrow

Also, Patty and Tommy O’Connell, for the solace and comfort extended to Rick and Deb. True and faithful friends who are always available to help in any way possible.

Suzanne’s life will be celebrated on Thursday, June 11, 2026, at Mary Queen Catholic Church, 606 Cedarwood Dr, Friendswood, TX 77546. Visitation will be at 12:00PM, with the funeral mass at 1:00 PM. There will be a reception in the church hall directly after the mass.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to be made in her name to the SPCA or The American Cancer Society, or a charity of your choosing.
