When Ticketmaster looked at their mobile ticketing app, they saw two separate native apps, duplicate maintenance work, and the high cost of supporting two developer teams. They asked us a straightforward question: is there a smarter way?
We recommended building a cross-platform solution using Xamarin instead. We consolidated to a single shared codebase, streamlining maintenance and eliminating the duplicate work that plagued iOS and Android development.

We gave AI three real UI/UX design tasks. It crushed two of them, and the third required our team to step in and redo the work from scratch β which turned out to be just as worth documenting as the wins.
One of our senior designers described the shift well: her role has evolved from "Creator of Everything" to "Editor-in-Chief," spending less time on setup and production work and more time on the judgment calls that actually require design expertise.
That is what AI-augmented design looks like in practice. Not replacement, not magic, but a meaningful reallocation of where skilled designers spend their time, with honest tradeoffs worth understanding.

33,000 lines of accepted AI-generated code, $160 in subscription costs, and up to 30x faster on specific debugging tasks.
Those numbers came from one of our engineers who rebuilt his daily development workflow around AI on a live client project. Not a controlled experiment, but real production work with real review standards at every step.

πΊπ¦ Recently, our team in Ukraine joined a community volunteer day at the 450 PRYKARPATTIA Rehabilitation Center, a specialized facility supporting the recovery and reintegration of Ukrainian veterans and their families.
Softjourners worked alongside other volunteers to improve the center's grounds, install benches, and set up lighting. We also delivered a company donation to help purchase equipment and expand rehabilitation opportunities at the center.
Softjourn has supported 4.5.0 Prykarpattia since its earliest days, and it's incredible to see what it has become: a place where veterans can heal, train, try adaptive sports, and find genuine community. The center also offers fitness and English classes for veterans' families, building a stronger support system beyond rehabilitation alone.
This initiative holds special meaning for our team. It carries forward the vision of our fallen colleague and hero, Oleh Perehuda, whose dedication to the center's development continues to inspire us. Today, his wife, Vasylyna Perehuda, leads the center's growth with the same heartfelt commitment.
We're proud to be part of work that goes beyond technology and makes a real difference in people's lives. πΊπ¦

πΊπ¦ Happy Vyshyvanka Day! πΊπ¦
Whether our team is working side by side at the office or working remotely around the world, vyshyvanka ties us together.
These beautifully embroidered shirts and dresses reflect the many cultures across Ukraine. Just by looking at the thread colors and geometric or floral patterns, Ukrainians can often tell which region a vyshyvanka comes from. But worn together, they show a united front and celebrate Ukraine's unique traditions.
A few things you might not know about vyshyvanka:
π©βπ It started with a student: Vyshyvanka Day began in 2006 when a student at Chernivtsi National University invited everyone to wear embroidered shirts on the same day. A few dozen students showed up the first year. By the second and third, teachers, students from other cities, public servants, and even taxi drivers had joined in. Now, an estimated 20 million people worldwide celebrate!
πͺ‘ There are about 200 embroidery techniques across Ukraine: Each region has its own styles, stitches, and color traditions. Some ancient methods that were less commonly used have been recently revived as well.
βοΈ Vyshyvanka has always gone to battle: Centuries ago, Cossacks wore embroidered shirts into combat as a form of protection. Sich Riflemen and Ukrainian insurgents carried on the tradition. Today, many Ukrainian defenders wear vyshyvanka under their uniforms, stitch embroidered patches onto their gear, or keep one in their backpacks as a reminder of what they are fighting for and the loved ones who made them. πΊπ¦

The teams doing the best work right now are not always the ones with the biggest budgets. They are the ones asking smarter questions.
At Softjourn, we test AI against real constraints, on real projects, and share exactly what we find. Not to promote a tool, but to give our clients a clear picture of what is possible and what still takes a human to get right.
That is what R&D means to us. Not theory, but hands-on practice.
