Proud to support Aliro and the open standards community at Unify 2026 this week!
As an active contributor to the Aliro technical community, Safetrust is committed to moving certificate-based identity from recognized standard to real-world deployment in commercial environments.
At the event, we'll showcase live demonstrations of Aliro Enterprise credentials (physical cards and mobile) provisioned and managed across multiple access vendors using enterprise-managed certificates.
No proprietary constraints. Full interoperability.
This is the foundation for frictionless access in multi-tenant buildings, supply chains, and complex campuses. The future of access is open by design.

Just wrapped our “Aliro Decoded” webinar this week and the questions from enterprise security and identity leaders were excellent.
We captured the most common ones (certificate management, wallet costs, LEAF/PKOC comparisons, federal use cases, mailbox functionality, post-quantum readiness, and more) and answered them in detail.
Key takeaway: Aliro delivers a single, open protocol for both mobile and physical credentials under one certificate-based trust model. No parallel systems. Lower complexity. True interoperability driven by the Connectivity Standards Alliance with Apple, Google, Samsung, and Safetrust.

ICYMI: Our “Aliro Decoded” webinar recording is now live.
Yesterday Safetrust CTO Hart, VP Advanced Systems Holderness, Aliro Product Manager Carducci delivered a clear briefing on the open, certificate-based credential standard.
In the recording:
- One credential, every touchpoint: unified mobile + physical with true multi-vendor interoperability
- How the protocol works: privacy-first channel, mutual authentication, mailbox feature
- Live demo: authentication in 297 milliseconds
- Side-by-side comparison: PKOC, DESFire, and SEOS
- Q&A: implementation, costs, post-quantum readiness, and federal/PIV use cases

Safetrust is heading to Unify 2026.
June 16 – 18 in Austin, the Connectivity Standards Alliance convenes leaders advancing open, interoperable identity.
We are there to demonstrate how certificate-based credentials and open protocols deliver secure, seamless access across people, places, and systems (without vendor lock-in). Mobile credentials and physical cards, managed through enterprise certificates, working together in real commercial environments.
This is where the shift from proprietary systems to scalable identity orchestration becomes practical.
Will you be in Austin? Let’s connect on what modern access actually looks like for enterprise teams.

Why does your physical access security still rely on secrets that aren’t yours to control?
In part 3 of our Aliro series, we break down how certificate-based identity flips the model: end users own the policy, mutual authentication replaces passive checks, and shared symmetric keys become a thing of the past.
No vendor lock-in. No rekeying when relationships change. Real cryptographic agility for the post-quantum era. All while aligning physical access with your enterprise Zero Trust architecture.

Enterprises evaluating Aliro often ask the same question: where do we source certified physical credentials that work across vendors without rip-and-replace or new vendor lock-in?
Today we announced a partnership with Smart Cards Inc. to deliver exactly that.
This collaboration strengthens Safetrust’s open partner ecosystem, giving organizations a reliable, vendor-independent source of Aliro-certified credentials that integrate natively with Safetrust Credential Manager.
Key outcomes for enterprise teams:
- Hybrid support for Aliro + legacy formats (including MIFARE DESFire) for phased migration
- Full certificate lifecycle management on one platform
- Multi-vendor reader compatibility across doors, locks, lockers, and more
- Supply chain resilience with no single-silicon dependency
Customers control the keys and can now source from multiple certified partners on an open standard.

Enterprise physical access is moving to open, certificate-based standards. Most security and identity leaders are not asking whether this shift is coming. They are asking how to adopt it without disrupting the systems and credentials already in place.
Our latest post breaks down exactly what that looks like in practice. It covers the three entry points that let organizations add modern mobile credentials and certificate-based trust in phases, using dual-technology readers and hybrid credentials alongside existing infrastructure.
No forklift upgrades. No re-badging waves. Just a clear path forward through the identity platform layer.
