On Thursday, October 9 the Steuben County Community Building experienced a gas leak. I would like to thank Bill Harter and Angola Fire Department for responding quickly to the call. Their professionalism and quick response allowed staff and the public to safely reenter the building with minimal interruption. Also, thank you to the staff who coordinated with emergency services. Great teamwork for all those involved.

Collaborating with area leaders to address needs in our county as this time we work on securing more childcare options for working parents. Thanks again to the SCCF for bringing everyone together.

Earlier this week, the Steuben County Early Childcare Coalition launched with $80,000 in support from nine regional investors. Together with Transform Consulting Group (TCG), the coalition is laying the groundwork to become an independent nonprofit dedicated to strengthening childcare access.

The Town is currently seeking members to serve on its Redevelopment Commission. This is a voluntary one-year appointment and a great way to get involved in local government and help shape our town's future.

What does a Redevelopment Commission do?

The Redevelopment Commission plays a vital role in the economic growth and revitalization of our town. It focuses on addressing blighted and unproductive areas to promote development and improve the overall quality of life for residents. The commission helps to attract new businesses, create jobs, and enhance our community's infrastructure and appearance. Think of it as helping to make Orland a more vibrant place to live and work! 🏡💼

To be eligible, you must:

*Be a resident of the Town of Orland

*Be at least 18 years of age

There are only a few meetings a year, so it's a perfect way to contribute without a significant time commitment.
