The manual transmission is the simplest (and earliest) of transmissions, and consists of a system of interlocking gearwheels. These wheels are arranged so that by operating a lever the driver can choose one of several ratios of speed between the input shaft and the output shaft.

You should change your automatic transmission fluid every three months. We recommend transmission system flushes rather than a simple fluid change to remove the dirty fluid from the torque converter. A change only replaces about half the fluid in the transmission system.
