Maryland residents must register their vehicles with the Maryland MVA. It's the law. Driving without a valid registration is a criminal misdemeanor - and it’s not worth the risk.

🚨 ATTENTION HISTORIC VEHICLE OWNERS 🚨
📅 New Maryland Historic Tag Laws Take Effect July 1st!

Beginning July 1, 2025, Maryland's definition of a historic vehicle will change to include vehicles with model years of 1999 or earlier.

Here's what's coming with this change:
🚗 Vehicles with model years 2000-2005 that currently hold historic tags will need to convert to a standard registration.
🚙 If there is no record of the current owner having completed a safety inspection, the vehicle will need to pass MD State Inspection to receive the new tags.
