Check out this cool competition! Try your hand at growing corn or soybeans and see how you stack up against others. And while you're at it, try out different growing scenarios without the financial risk!

Researchers at the College of Agriculture & Natural Resources - University of Maryland are inviting growers across the state to participate in the UMD Testing Ag Performance Solutions (TAPS) program this year, where they can test a growing scenario without the risk of losing yield.

In the program, participating corn and soybean growers make decisions about variety selection, fertility, pest management and irrigation. Those management decisions will be implemented in small plots in one field at the Wye Research and Education Center, forming a true head-to-head competition.

The irrigated corn competition is limited to 20 entries and the irrigated soybean competition is limited to 15 entries. Farmers can enter as individuals, team up together on one entry or partner with a crop consultant or other advisor.
