Gotta know what you stand for.

I’ve been asked why point-to-point wiring makes sense to me, and I suppose it’s from a lifetime of maintaining amazing old items like these. The first pic shows the guts of my old Hammond organ, and the second is an old Grommes stereo amp that I restored years ago.

Both are from the early 1950s, and given a little intelligent attention, they’re still running strong for me 70 years later. Contrast this with the piles of newer equipment I’ve seen scrapped due to an irreparable PCB or an irreplaceable IC, and you might see why simple P2P devices seem so hearty and substantial to me.

The 7-watt Scalawag is born!

After exhaustive experimentation and many a load line plotted, this single-ended KT-66 head is finally the little goblin I was seeking. Second order harmonics galore!

Soon to be listed at our website and on Reverb.

Prepping this freshly drilled chassis for something a little new and different. (In British Racing Green with an Ochre power cord.) Stay tuned.

Some gentle mods to the OG today. (R&D never truly finishes.)

Looks oddly familiar.

A GSE-5 Rapscallion in our standard blue livery – shown along with my OG, the amp that inspired this whole venture. Simply the ultimate recording amp.

Somehow, I’ve made these amps even more ridiculously fun. Because the sweetest spots on a tube amp might be a little window-rattling – even at 5-watts – a built-in attenuator option is now available on all Foundling guitar amp builds. No need to run through another expensive box to enjoy your favorite tones at living room levels!

Like every other aspect of my amps, this feature required tireless experimentation and development before I was satisfied. The result is a positively habit-forming, true-bypass circuit that delivers even more smiles per hour.

Have it your way at Foundling Audio Labs. Configure your own amp from a range of cool options from Tolex and cord colors to tube and attenuator options. Turnaround is often as little as 2 weeks from the date of you order to the ship date (barring any delays from my suppliers).

AVAILABLE NOW – the very amp seen and heard in our recent attenuator demo video (serial 223477). It has very good lungs indeed!

Behold! Photographed back in January of 2022, the very first Foundling production amp ever built & sold.

The Foundling GSE•5 "Rapscallion" is a sweet and simple, single-ended, 5-watt, 6V6, guitar amplifier in a tabletop / mini head form factor. Little box, big tone. Hand built in the USA, and 100% point-to-point wired with artfully combined, top-quality components.

Great pains were taken to make these production units as magical as my personal amp which inspired them. I simply didn't stop until I liked the fresh new ones even more!
