Chasing curiosity, getting my hands dirty with pastels, and creating peaceful landscapes. The process quiets my mind and soothes my anxiety.

Your child may be wild, loud, opinionated, and have lots of feelings which means they are, wait for it, awesomely human!
Nothing makes my mama heckles raise more than someone trying to make my daughter smaller. She is very confident in herself, willing to express her feelings, and always ready to lead. She has a gift for pulling shy kids out of their shell, she loves including those playing by themselves, she has a knack for finding the sunshine, and is always ready to jump in to help. Sure this can be exhausting as her mom. Yes, there are days I would love to sit still and be quiet. It takes a lot of direction, boundary setting, and patience. All of which helps me grow to be a softer, more mindful, and willing adult. .
I'm grateful for my spirited child and love meeting other spirited children willing to be themselves at all times. The bravery and courage in this is inspiring. My wish and hope is to reassure parents, including myself, that we don't have to apologize for our children's humanness!

There are so many parts of my job that I love, it's hard to choose a favorite. Delivering product though, is at the top because I get to see reactions. I get to see the family gathered to view their own life. Tell stories about the pictures they are seeing. Kids light up, a story book about them! Their life from my perspective. It can be confidence inducing and healing even when don't know you needed to be healed. It can also be empowering, as most of us, especially mom's have a hard time with internal and external judgement. Images of your real life are proof of your existence, your power, and your love for the people in your life.

Guess what I just realized on this 3rd day of July... It's my birthday month!!!! 🤗 🎉🍾🍨
Contrary to everything I post and share here, I'm not a huge fan of talking about myself, and less a fan of celebrating myself. The whole spotlight thing makes me incredibly anxious.
I'm sitting here wishing it was realistic to ask for world peace, or better yet, fair and equal justice for all...instead I want to give back!

Some fun news!! I am so excited and honored to be teaching for this new platform! Leilani Parente Rogers has an amazing heart for her work and the future of the birth photography industry! I met her a couple of years ago at a conference, have heard her speak on a few occasions, and serious love her perspective and artist soul! I can't wait to share more about this platform and one of a kind learning experience as more instructors are announced.

You may know Nicole Burmeister as the brain and heart behind The Birth Narrative. Well, we are pleased to welcome Nicoleinbold, LLC to the Birthbound team of instructors!

Nicole resides in Richmond, Virginia with her husband, daughter, boston terrier, and tortoise. Ten years ago, she was a trombone player then turned photographer who ultimately found her true passion behind the lens after her daughter was born in 2013. Nicole now photographs to transform vulnerability to confidence for all parents and children.

Outside of photography, Nicole enjoys learning, discussing and helping to empower other creative business owners in sustainability, branding, and SEO. She believes each element is inherently connected and necessary to creating a successful business. Whatever success means to you!
