Transform Mid-Atlantic promotes the development of global citizens and just communities in Maryland, D.C., Delaware, and beyond.

The Transform Mid-Atlantic is a non-profit membership association of public, private, 2- and 4-year colleges and universities. Transform provides leadership to colleges and universities in Maryland, Washington, D.C., and Delaware, by advocating, supporting, and encouraging institutional participation in academic and co-curricular based public service and civic engagement programs. Transform strengthens the capacity of member institutions to enhance student learning and to meaningfully engage with communities. Transform is supported through a combination of institutional dues, federal and private grants, and in-kind contributions. The Transform office is housed by Hood College in Frederick, Maryland.

Their workshop, “Engagement First: Designing Civic Participation for Every Learning Style,” introduces a Visual/Auditory/Tactile framework for designing community engagement that broadens reach and surfaces voices that single-mode outreach misses.
