Snow emergency update ❄️

Mayor O’Connor has declared a SNOW EMERGENCY in The City of Frederick in anticipation of Winter Storm Gail. The emergency will go into effect at 8AM tomorrow, Wednesday, December 16, 2020. City offices/facilities and non-essential operations will be closed. All Parks and Recreation programs and classes will be canceled at the Talley Recreation Center and the Trinity Recreation Center.

The City’s priority during a snow event is to ensure clearing and maintenance of all Snow Emergency Routes. These routes will be cleared first and continually maintained until snowfall slows. Secondary and neighborhood roads will be addressed at that time.

Please view additional reminders and conditions of the snow emergency plan at https://cityoffrederickmd.gov/CivicAlerts.aspx?AID=6453

Don't let this cold weather get you down about working in the garden. This is a great time to clip dead limbs from shrubs, reseed the yard, and mulch those beds. And don't forget about lettuce and potato planting!!
