Spent this rainy day framing a cherry cutting board with walnut. The next step is a custom engraving on the back. The project on deck is making a cross from pieces of this thick pine header salvaged from an old church in DC.

Thanks to a week-long visit from Kirk’s Dad, the shop is more organized so we can get back to working on projects. Thanks for all your hard work!

Here are the finished pieces we were working on last week! salvaged tin, cast iron legs, and a metal hook from a DC rowhouse project. The table has salvaged tin for the top - sealed with epoxy, and the cast iron legs. The rope light is draped over the old hook. Scroll to see the original pieces. The firm gifted these to their clients - the owners of the rowhouse.

Scraping just enough paint off this tin to expose the old paint, but keep the vintage look. It’s for a custom gift for a home remodel client - made of materials salvaged from the renovation of a DC rowhouse.

We now have a workshop!!! Inspector Boo Radley checked it out and he approves. We’re still moving things in and organizing in between some custom furniture projects. Some of you have heard about our looong journey to make the shop space official. We’re so happy and excited! If you find your self in the White Oak area of Silver Spring, we’re in the back of the Meadowood retail strip.
