Fireworks - before you light them, know the rules. In Frederick, it's simple: If it goes up or blows up, it's illegal.

Anything that leaves the ground!

FREDERICK, CO (06/11/2026): At approximately 2 pm today, this fella was mistakenly called in as a danger noodle, aka rattlesnake, from the Countryside neighborhood. CSO Milano was happy to rescue him and relocate him to an open field after a brief field trip to the PD as a reward for his cooperation!

Could your neighborhood be the next National Night Out stop?
National Night Out is all about bringing neighbors together and strengthening connections with the first responders who serve our community.
On Tuesday, August 4, 2026, the Frederick Police Department will visit neighborhood gatherings throughout town for an evening of fun, conversation, and community building.
Hosting a stop doesn't have to be complicated. Whether it's a potluck, barbecue, ice cream social, food truck gathering, yard games, or simply popsicles and water balloons in the park, the goal is to get neighbors together and create connections.
We're looking for additional neighborhood organizers to host events and help expand National Night Out across Frederick. If you'd like to bring a stop to your neighborhood, we'd love to help you get started.
