Jason Hannan here. This is a personal one for me. This is one of my late father's songs. It's called The Chain, a song he wrote about splitting up with my mother, Ann Sayle. This is the second single from his forthcoming album, entitled "All You Left Behind". The lead vocal was recorded as a rough demo in the 1990s. We've recruited Howard Parker (pedal steel) and Michelle Hannan (harmony vocals) to fill the track out. I handle the other harmony vocal along with guitars, bass, and drums. I hope you'll give it a listen.

It was previously recorded by The Chicks (then known as the Dixie Chicks) and is part of Michelle's upcoming 80's-90's country retrospective "Rewind - Songs of My Childhood". The personnel on this cut are Michelle on lead vocals and both harmony vocals, Jason Hannan - Musician on lead and rhythm guitar, bass, and drums, and Howard Parker Music on pedal steel. Jason Hannan here folks. Me and Matthew Geiger - Musician have been singing together for many years and I've enjoyed every second of it. As I sit in the studio late this Sunday evening working on upcoming releases, it occured to me to share this isolated vocal from a Matthew & Jason duet. This is an old tune we got from the listening to the legendary Stanley Brothers, one called The Girl Behind the Bar. All instruments have been stripped away from the recording, leaving nothing but the raw vocals. I like to think it's pretty good. Hope you agree.
