Focus Recovery Center was created at a very critical time during the Opioid Epidemic in 2018. The reality was that individuals were expiring at an alarming frequency from overdoses of Opioids. This facility opened their doors in 2020 during the COVID-19 pandemic when resources seemed low and opioid use remained unchanged if not even greater. Focus Recovery Center joined the Frederick County Health Department Community Event for National Recovery Month focused on Recovery is for Everyone! It was a pleasure to hear the recovery stories of local individuals, in recovery, legislative actions and partner with other community based programs!
Focus recovery had the opportunity to hear Congressman David John Trone, of Maryland's 6th congressional district share his family’s loss to overdose and his plan of action addressing the Opioid Crisis.
