'My story is so classic; I found a lump in my right breast in January 2022 when I was in the shower. I ignored it for a month and finally went to the GP in February half term. My GP wasn’t worried but decided to send me to the hospital for further examination. 'I was referred to Royal Marsden Hospital on 8 March and as soon as the nurse touched the lump, she said, "I am worried". That was the first time I felt sick to my stomach. 'I had a mammogram, ultrasound and biopsy in less than 3 hours, and they knew the lump was suspicious. I was diagnosed with breast cancer on 15 March and my breast cancer journey started. 'I had a lumpectomy and removal of my lymph nodes on 13 April and I am now in the middle of my chemotherapy treatment. 'The day I joined the wear it pink team to film their new TV advert was the day after my second chemo cycle. I still had my own hair and enough energy to participate as a teacher for the video. Now I’ve lost my hair and most days I feel very tired and exhausted. 'There are many things which I really miss in my days and one of them is teaching. I believe I was born to be a teacher and as soon as I start a lesson, I turn into a different person full of joy and energy. 'I am looking forward to going back to school after finishing my chemotherapy cycles and hope to use my wear it pink pack at school after October half term.
