Bloomfield Livestock Market’s Annual Back to Grass Calf Special on April 1, 2026 marked the best calf sale in barn history, setting 17 records and establishing new all-time highs for 3, 4, and 5 weight classes. The sale produced the top three 4-weight prices ever recorded at the barn, including 18 head at 415 lbs bringing $640.00, 21 head at 423 lbs at $629.00, and 11 head at 452 lbs at $596.00. In the 5-weight division, 44 head at 504 lbs sold for $571.00 and 45 head at 506 lbs brought $550.00, ranking as the two highest 5-weight prices in barn history. The 3-weight category also set a new all-time high, with 29 head at 394 lbs selling for $640.00.

Good news, I will pick up beef from the processor tomorrow. Saturday at the Wake Forest Farmers Market I will have a new supply of steaks and roasts.
