A beautiful reunion today with my dear friend Jan Sarratore who arranged many magical visits for me at Whitney Young School in Ft Wayne, IN.

Whitney Young at that time was a rare “Regio Emelia” public school, filled with children’s art and bursting with creativity from literally every wall and ceiling, nook and cranny. From both with the students and the teachers too!

It remains one of the most unique educational settings I’ve played for. In fact I still have some of the artwork they created during my performance hanging on my wall today!!

It was great to see you Jan! Come visit us in Franklin again soon!!

It will be my honor once again to emcee the best songwriter night in Nashville Tuesday Jan 6! (Okay so I’m a little biased!) A great “19 Miles to Music Row” lineup at Franklin First Methodist with Jeff Dayton - longtime band leader for Glen Campbell as well as songwriter for George Strait, Doug Stone - oh and by the way has also played for the great Lee Greenwood and Kenny Chesney AND Willie Nelson - will be our “inside the hits” writer. 38 years ago today, nearly to the minute, Jodie and I were in this very spot, where I had the great good fortune to hear the words “I do”. And my life - and heart - was made whole and complete. ❤️

Our anniversary was made even more special because we are with our Marjory and visiting my Mom.

PS All due apologies to our Canterbury Methodist friends. We snuck in through an open door that probably should have been locked. Should be some very funny security camera footage!! I hope you’ll forgive us!!

The best Christmas show in Tennessee every year?! The annual Christmas pageant Franklin First United Methodist Church with the great Johan Glidden and Daniel McGinley of course!! Wise men, good harmonies AND Upright bass? A joyful noise indeed!! Merry Christmas!!

The most beautiful moment for our family each year, when we walk out of Franklin First United Methodist Church at midnight on Christmas eve and step into the promise of Christmas morning, full of peace, full of hope and full of love. Merry Christmas!!

Merry Christmas from the Day family! Per our tradition, Thanksgiving weekend we snuck onto the Troop 137 tree lot after hours, picked out a tree, got our two alum Eagle Scouts it tie it the top of the car (as they did many times back in the day - the infamous “trucker’s knot” like Mr. Green taught many a scout!!) and headed home singing our made up, never the same twice version of “Oh Christmas Tree”. Though we won’t all be together for Christmas Jodie Day and I were so thankful to have everyone all together for Thanksgiving. Celebrate the ones you love!!

After Waze sent me on some roads I’ve never been on - where there are literally no guard rails - to avoid crazy Thanksgiving traffic on I 40…I’ve made it to North Carolina…where I’m looking forward to an always amazing week of shows in Cabarrus County!! Looking forward to seeing all my Cabarrus Arts Council friends!!

And how fun was it to have my friend Timothie and his family join in the fun! It’s always great to see you Timothie!! Watch out for that “Vulture Vomit”!!
