Family comes in many different forms. For me, family includes all the amazing kids that I get the privilege and honor of teaching every single day. Words cannot express how lucky I am to get to do what I love every day and call it my career--that is a true blessing. I will miss all my 8th graders, but family never says goodbye, so for now it's "see you later." I hope everyone has an amazing summer!

Another incredible presentation given by an amazing and inspiring group of my kids. You all never cease to amaze me and even though it gets crazy at times, we always pull it together. This last presentation for my 8th graders is a little bitter sweet, but I hope that this is only the beginning for you all. Continue to inspire others and spread your genuine and heartfelt messages of hope, compassion, love, tolerance and acceptance. I cannot properly convey just how very proud, honored, and blessed I am to get to be your teacher. You are all amazing!

"Laughter is the best medicine." If this is true than I got a great dose during 7th hour today. I laughed so hard during a conversation with Blanco that we were both bright red and in tears. I haven't laughed that hard in a long time. Days like today remind me of how blessed I am to get to do what I love every day--be a teacher. I wouldn't trade it for the world!

I can't say it enough--I'm truly blessed to be a teacher. Leanna is a great example of why I do what I do. No matter what she's dealing with or going through, she remains positive and treats others with love, compassion and kindness. She is a great example of the "change we need to see in this world." ❤️

Teamwork is the best way to describe how this desk was transformed. I wish I had the before picture, but so many hands went into working on this to make it look so great! If memory serves me correctly, we had anywhere from 17-20 kids working in this at different times. I have the best kids ever--they know the true meaning of working together!

Yay! I finally got cleared to go back to work tomorrow!! Being sick is no fun, but being away from all my kids makes it that much worse. Looking forward to being back in school tomorrow! 😃

To all my presenters--I cannot properly convey into words how very proud I am of each and every one of you for the amazing presentation you put on today. To have the courage to stand in front of over 900 people and speak from wisdom and most importantly, from the heart, is nothing short of breath taking! You are all the change we need to see in this world. I am so blessed and honored to get to be your teacher and lead such an incredible group of loving, talented, and inspirational young adults!! My heart is overflowing with pride! Love you all!

To all my students, past, present and future...I want to say Thank You! Thank you for being the reason I want to be at work every single day. Thank you for all the laughter, the tears, the learning moments, the failures, the successes and everything in between.
