Loved Before

Friends, With the weather being as nice as it has been, we are clearing our storage shed at the cupboard. It has nice winter clothes, children's clothes, shoes, and odds and ends. We are very sad to post this. This morning, my son removed a deceased black cat from the street in front of the store. If that was your cat, we wanted you to know so you won't be searching. That cat is being loved in heaven by Jesus, and we send our condolences to you. - Connie and Nico

Starting July 7th, the Salvation Army will have an office every Monday from 9 am to noon to help those in need sign up for Lighten the Load utility assistance and Energy Outreach Colorado. This will be at City Hall in room 1N, closer to you!

We are closed on site for cleaning and for those folks who have items that need to be picked up. Today, 2 to 6 PM. Free items will be placed outside until Thursday. Please don't make a mess. Please don't drop off food donations. Anyone in need of food or assistance has received all resource knowledge from me. Please don't dump trash and break my dumpster.

Four years ago, I ventured on a journey to start my sober walk. I had viewed the store for many years from across the apartments where I lived, trading my cleaning of move-outs for rent. I knew I wanted that building to be my store. For many years, I had been giving to the unhoused out of my car, and now I could have a place to make money to do more. The town and many of my housekeeping clients blessed me with items to sell so I could give. In four years, I have fed, clothed, provided pet food, medicine, money for rent assistance, gas vouchers for those staying in their car or trying to work, shower vouchers, and utility assistance. I have been able to provide several bikes, bus tickets for folks to get home, temporary hotel stays, a place to sleep during cold storms, but the most important thing I have provided is hope through prayer and bringing people closer to Jesus. None of this has been easy; I have had people fight me the whole time. I have been disappointed that many people I admired couldn't take time out in four years to come by and make a memory with me. I am thankful for those who did help. There are many to mention, including my business partner Bob, my son Nico, the VFW, my friends Helen, Micheal, Norma, Melissa, Tish, Patricia, awesome associates who worked with me, the Winery, Pastor Jim, my landlord Bob, and many who donated food and went downtown to share love with the unhoused. I hope I took time to thank you, write you a note, or give you a hug. Today is bittersweet as I close the store and prepare to return it. I have learned so very much. I didn't get to do everything I wanted, as the last two years financially drained me, and my cup is empty. God bless us all so we may continue to have a giving heart, grace for others, and generosity when needed.
