First-time buyers accounted for 35% of sales of existing single-family houses and condos during the month, according to the National Association of Realtors. That’s the highest rate for this segment of the homebuying market since June 2020.
Sales rose 3.2% from the previous month and by the same percentage from one year earlier, to a seasonally adjusted annual rate of 4.17 million.
