Ten Bikes For Short People Being “vertically challenged” is rough: you’re hard to spot in a crowd, you can’t see squat at concerts, and it’s a struggle to hop on many of the rides at

Moderate Ride Saturday October 22nd
FWMR Club Ride
Meetup: Sonic on Clifford St. in White Settlement
Kick stands up: 9:02
Ride Leader: Fixxervi6
This will be a Moderate pace ride. Moderates are great for riders who want a slightly faster pace than beginners but still slow enough to be relaxed and comfortable on any sized bike, with a passenger, or learning to ride with the group. The pace for a moderate ride is at or near posted speed limits. On a Moderate ride the ride leader tries to keep a closer eye on the group and adjust the speeds appropriately.
Please be dressed appropriately: helmet, jacket, gloves, over the ankle shoes and long pants.
Route not selected yet, but I have a general direction selected. There will be lunch and then more riding after lunch, show up with a full tank. I'll have my GS out for this ride.
Please be sure to show up on time, if you want breakfast show up EARLY

No camera on helmets
Noticed a thread over on MotoDFW, Ride Smart has a new policy on helmet mounted cameras. Unless they are part of a comm system and attached to the helmet through a mechanical system they are not allowed.

It's not mentioned, but the conversation on MotoDFW indicates that RS is strongly encouraging people to attach cameras to their bikes with a safety strap of some kind so that if the camera brakes free of the mount it doesn't go flying off the bike and hit someone. Obviously no mount or safety strap can prevent the camera from flying in every possibly crash, they just don't want stuff falling off the bike while you're on the track.

Intermediate Saturday October 15th
Meetup: Sonic on Clifford St. in White Settlement
Kick stands up: 8:30am
Ride Leader: Fixxervi6
This will be an intermediate pace ride. The pace on the country roads is what we call spirited and has a tendency to remain above posted speeds. On an Intermediate ride the ride leader will keep an eye on the group but is also focused on riding his/her own ride. Intermediate rides the riders are expected to be comfortable riding with the group and have good self control, allowing the ride leader to "relax" a bit.
Please be dressed appropriately: full face helmet, zip together mesh at a minimum (leathers recommended), appropriate motorcycle boots and gloves. Jeans are not appropriate protection for intermediate rides.
I don't have a route selected yet, I just know I have to get out on 2, going to try to make the air show later in the day hence the early departure, I want to get back to the metroplex as early as I can so I may not even throw a lunch on this route.

Bike Night - Oct. 13th
you have never ridden with us this is a great time to meet the members of the club. If you have ridden with us a couple times you know that most of the time on our rides is spent in the saddle; not leaving a lot of time for socializing. This is a great way to get to know the people you ride with.
Everyone is invited and these are open events to members and club members. We hope to see you at the next bike night! You are officially Invited.

Heading north, since this is a holiday weekend we will get to lunch early, so if your going to eat at sonic don't pig out, I want to beat the crowds so it's only about 50 miles to lunch with up to two stops along the way, you'll see why. After lunch we'll head out and complete a loop, the ride will end at the sonic we started at unless someone wants to join me for a really awesome rootbeer float then you can continue on with me to a place that sells awesome rootbeer floats. There are no technical twisties on this route, sweepers and nice pavement.

Ride Smart Sept 11-12
Questions: How does the Cresson 1.3 compare to the 1.7 mile track? Has anyone just ridden their bike to the track instead of hauling it down, pros/cons? Is anyone planning on riding these days?
