A huge thank you to the City of Fort Worth for sending these three amazing volunteers to serve with us at Community Crossroads! Two of these young women traveled all the way from New Zealand and chose to spend part of their trip volunteering in our community.

They were friendly, engaged, and genuinely interested in learning about our ministries and neighbors. We are honored they chose to spend their day with us and grateful for the helping hands and kind hearts they brought to Community Crossroads. Thank you for making a difference!

In addition to providing fresh produce and herbs from our on-site garden, volunteers share herb bundles and recipe cards each summer to help neighbors enjoy and use fresh herbs at home. This year, the ministry took it one step further by giving away more than 30 herb plants for neighbors to grow themselves.

The response was overwhelming! These little plants quickly found new homes, extending the harvest beyond our garden and into the community. Thank you to our dedicated garden volunteers for helping cultivate nourishment, knowledge, and connection... One plant at a time.

Sometimes the best invitations are the simplest ones. Travis asked Senator Taylor Rehmet to come and serve, and the answer was yes.

What unfolded was the kind of day that reminds us why this work matters. Neighbors helping neighbors. Conversations that lingered. Hands doing the quiet, ordinary work that makes a place feel like home.

We're grateful to Senator Rehmet for showing up and standing in it with us, to every volunteer who gave their time, and to the community that keeps choosing each other day after day. This is what Community Crossroads is about. Not a moment, but a way of being together.

Thank you for being part of it.

June 2 is I Love My Dentist Day! Today we celebrate the incredible dentists who make our mission possible and help keep our communities healthy. Your skill, compassion, and dedication bring healthy smiles - and renewed confidence - to those who need it most. Thank you for treating every patient with kindness and dignity and for making a lasting difference in our community.

At their April meeting, FWDDS had the privilege of welcoming two incredible community partners who are making a meaningful impact in Fort Worth through compassionate healthcare and dental services.

Salt & Light Dental Clinic provides free, comprehensive dental care to individuals experiencing homelessness, low-income families, and those with limited or no access to care. Everyone was excited to hear about their upcoming relocation and expanded vision to offer all phases of dentistry to even more patients in need.

Mercy Clinic continues to serve uninsured patients in Fort Worth through a true “one-stop care” model, offering medical and dental services, lab work, and access to medications, all delivered with dignity and compassion.

Thank you to both organizations for the incredible work you do to care for the community and improve lives every day.

This photo features the volunteers from TCU Religious & Spiritual Life and International Christian Fellowship. They designed our table centerpieces for the holidays from last fall through May. They will be taking a summer break and returning to serve with us again in the fall.

We are so grateful for the partnership of TCU Religious & Spiritual Life and International Christian Fellowship, whose volunteers have helped keep our dining tables festive and delightful for our neighbors.

Wishing them a wonderful summer and sending a huge thank you to the volunteer team for all the beautiful table décor they created throughout the year!

A huge thank you to Fort Worth HR for hosting their Employment Law Update Conference at First Pres for the third year in a row — and for once again showing up for our community in a big way.
This year's donations to our school and CXR include:

90 backpacks
9 totes
32 pairs of sunglasses
31 bug sprays
41 sunblocks
Plus candy and toys for our Pre-K kiddos

Last year FWHR donated 25 backpacks along with totes and other supplies — and they've nearly quadrupled that generosity this time around. These gifts will directly bless the kids and families we serve through our school and CXR ministries.
Thank you, FWHR, for being such a faithful partner. We're grateful for you.
