A note from our lesson this week: Pr***ens are starting to think about themselves “in the third person” for the first time in their lives. As they do this, they start to assign an identity to themselves. Looking in the mirror, they might think, “athlete,” “child of God,” or “troublemaker.” What we think about ourselves has a powerful affect on our thoughts, our actions, and our words. This in turn affects the life we have and the person we become.

We are being conformed to the thoughts we have, especially the ones we have about God and about
ourselves. It’s a cycle that can be hard to break.
The Bible is clear that we should not be conformed to the standards and thoughts of this world, but rather that we should be conformed to the image of God himself

Read Ephesians 4:22-24
