Here’s a little Fort Wayne foodie history for y’all 📖.

Did you know: while we didn’t invent the dish known as Crab Rangoon, we were the first restaurant (possibly in the world!) to call it ‘Crab Mandalay’ when we opened in 2018.

Since then, two of our former head chefs have gone on to open their own spots here in Fort Wayne (Bangkok Bistro and Heart of Asian Fusion), and they’ve adopted the name ‘Crab Mandalay’ on their menus too.

We love that so many of our regulars call them Crab Mandalay now, and we hope it keeps spreading.

A little fun fact: Mandalay and Rangoon (now Yangon) are two of the largest cities in Myanmar—but the dish itself is actually a very American creation, invented right here in the U.S. 🇺🇸

Every spot does them a little differently, some sweeter, some more savory, but there’s a reason they’re one of the most popular appetizers out there: that creamy cheese filling with shredded crab, wrapped and fried until brightly golden.

We hand-make hundreds of these golden nuggets fresh every morning. Come grab yours!!! 😋
