Happy Summer Solstice! 🌞

Today marks the longest day of the year, and as we hit peak sunlight here in Indiana, we’re celebrating our neighborhood’s quietest, most effective cooling system: the urban canopy.

Did you know that on a day like today, a single mature tree can provide the cooling power of 10 room-sized air conditioners running 20 hours a day? πŸƒ

Our trees also lower energy costs for Hoosier families and create vibrant, breathable spaces for us to enjoy all summer long. Our goal at Trees Indiana is to grow the shade that keeps us all refreshed.

Where is your favorite shaded spot in Indiana to beat the heat today? πŸ‘‡

Consider this your official reminder to log off, step away from the screen, and go find some shade. Indiana's trails and waterways are waiting for you. πŸ’š

Urban forests are the lungs of our Indiana communities. They cool our streets, clean our air, and bring a much-needed breath of nature to our busiest neighborhoods.

Spend some time with your local urban forest today. It’s time well spent. πŸ’š

We believe that every child should have the chance to grow alongside nature. 🌳✨

Our mission is simple: to inspire and educate Indiana’s youth to become the stewards of our community canopy. We provide hands-on opportunities for young people to plant, protect, and maintain the natural world right in their own neighborhoods.

This , we’re celebrating the incredible power of the Indiana urban canopy. Our trees are the heartbeat of our neighborhoods.

Did you know that a healthy urban forest can lower local temperatures by up to 10 degrees? By shading our streets and homes, our trees:

πŸƒ Naturally cool our communities,
πŸ“‰ Lower energy costs for Hoosier families,
πŸ’š And create more vibrant, breathable spaces for us to gather.

Climate action doesn't have to feel overwhelming. It can be as simple as planting a native tree or supporting local forestry.

Big shoutout to the All Pro Dad crew and students at Fortville Elementary School! πŸŽ’πŸŒ³

We spent a wonderful afternoon together planting three bare-root Catalpa trees at FES. They may look like sticks today, but they are already beating the odds; just one week later, they are already sprouting their very first leaves! πŸƒ

We love seeing the next generation connect so deeply with nature. Welcome to Indiana, little trees!

We had an amazing time at Eco Fest Fort Wayne celebrating our favorite dynamic duo: trees and pollinators!

We got our hands dirty making native wildflower seed balls. These little seed balls will grow into vital foraging habitats for bees, butterflies, and other pollinators, who in return keep our urban canopy thriving. 🌎

Thanks for coming out and digging in with Trees Indiana! πŸ’š
