“CrossFit has enabled me to grow in grit, resilience, strength, flexibility, reaction time and more. Getting up early and hitting a morning WOD is amazing for my overall wellbeing. I played basketball through high school and college and missed that camaraderie. At CrossFit Praus I’ve found teammates who push me to give my best and who do hard things with me.”

Happy Father’s Day to all the dads out there especially our Praus dads!
Thank you for showing up, leading by example, putting in the work, and proving that strength goes far beyond the gym walls. Your families, your community, and your kids are watching—and learning from you every day.
Today we celebrate you. 💪🏼
Make time to work out.
Not because you have to—because you deserve to feel strong, capable, energized, and proud of yourself.
Life will always be busy, but investing in your health is always worth it. Show up for you.
Looking for 3 new people ready to make time for themselves! 💥💪🏼🧠

“Pre‑2024
Finding a new identity
After a significant weight loss, I hit a plateau. I was bored, restless, and looking for something that felt like an adventure. CrossFit gave me that. More importantly, it gave me a version of myself I had never really believed in.
For most of my life I struggled with confidence. In the gym, I started feeling proud of what my body could do. I felt strong, capable, even a little dangerous in the best possible way. Somewhere along the way, I stopped seeing myself as a former couch potato and started thinking of myself as an athlete, a word I never imagined I’d use to describe myself.

Rebuilding after a cardiac arrest
After an unexplained sudden cardiac arrest, I thought that feeling was gone forever. The confidence, the toughness, the sense that I could push through hard things, it all seemed shattered.
But CrossFit had already taught me something deeper than workouts: grit. It taught me to keep moving when things are uncomfortable, uncertain, and scary. Recovery wasn’t about setting PRs. It was about pushing through fear, rebuilding trust in myself, and proving that I could keep going. Now I don’t just feel strong. I know I have the resilience to face things I once thought were impossible.

Setting an example
Today, I do CrossFit for my family. I want my wife and son to see what grit, work ethic, and doing hard things looks like in practice. I want to know I can run, play, carry my child, help my family, and be physically capable when it matters.
At this stage, CrossFit isn’t just about me. It’s about becoming the kind of husband and father who leads by example and chooses hard things because they make us stronger.” 💥💪🏼🧠

I CrossFit so that I can stay healthy. I want to be active so that I can chase after my boys. I wanna be able to climb the jungle gym and run around the park. 💥💪🏼🧠
In here, being last doesn’t mean being alone.
We wait. We cheer. We push. We finish together.
Because CrossFit was never just about the workout — it’s about the people beside you when it gets hard. The ones yelling your name when you want to quit. The ones reminding you that community carries you farther than pride ever will.
No one finishes alone here. That’s family. That’s community. That’s who we are. 💥💪🏼🧠
