Family Food Trip: Stop #3 🇨🇴

Pueblito Viejo in Chicago. This place has personality before the food even hits the table.

The lights, the music, the colors, the decorations, the energy… it feels like walking into someone’s memory of home.

That’s one thing we love about local restaurants. Sometimes it’s not just the food. It’s the whole feeling around it.

The menu, the walls, the music playing, the families eating, the kids being kids, and everybody settling in like they’ve been there before.

This isn’t our food or our restaurant. Just another local spot we wanted to enjoy and support while we’re out here.

Family Food Trip: Stop #2 🇪🇨

Made it to Chicago and stopped at Restaurant Ecuador.

Something hearty, homey, and filling to start the trip right.

Fun fact: Jay is actually half Ecuadorian!

One thing we love about visiting different local restaurants is seeing how every culture has its own version of comfort food. The kind of food that fills the table, feeds the family, and makes you slow down for a minute.

We love expanding our palate and appreciating different flavors. It all inspires the way we think about food, hospitality, and serving people. 😉

Now, this isn’t our food or our restaurant. Just another local spot we wanted to support and enjoy while we’re out here. Food people supporting food people. ❤️

Also… we’re calling this “research” because it sounds more responsible than saying we planned the trip around eating. 😄

South Bend Roots: Stop #1

Before Waynedale Café, before Eggs & Salsa, before the food trailer… there was South Bend.

This is Nick’s Patio.

This place is part of our family story. Ana worked here for years, many of those on night shift, so she could take care of the kids during the day and still provide for the family.

Before she ever opened her own restaurant, this was one of the places where she learned, worked, served people, and kept going.

So today, on our way to Chicago, we had to stop here and sit down for a meal at a place that helped shape part of the story that eventually led us to where we are now.

Food has a funny way of carrying memories.

And around here, we always support local when we can. ❤️

It may look like the road is trying to keep us a secret right now…

but we promise, we’re open. 😄

The construction is heavy out front, and yes, there are pipes right by the restaurant, but there is still access to get in.

So don’t let the orange barrels win.

Today we had the honor of helping celebrate a very special milestone with family and friends.

Graduation is the result of years of hard work, long nights, determination, and support from the people who believe in you. We’re excited to see what this next chapter holds and wish you nothing but success in the years ahead.
