sunday morning essentials: a giant papier-mâché mug, a ring, and a brew-tiful proposal 😉💍☕️

kylie + justina got engaged one year after their first date, in the same place they met, the java house in midtown. 🥹 kylie’s sister + mom set to making a perfect backdrop, complete with custom mugs, proposal themed m&ms, and extra rings just in case kylie forgot the real one at home LMAO. i tucked into a corner, listening to them come into the reserved room while Justina asked “what is this? kylie, what are we doing?” kylie told justina how for the past year, she had known, known this was the person for her, the love she wanted to keep for a lifetime, and would she do her the honor of being her wife?

overjoyed, caffeinated and full of adrenaline, these two couldn’t take their eyes or hands off each other. it was a joy to watch these two say yes - they’re currently celebrating on a mexican cruise, but feel free to show them love in the comments!!!

i’m with you till we get it right.

tomorrow is a big day - wedding day - for j + r. i still think about this engagement session often, one of my favorite evenings i’ve maybe ever had with a couple. it was easy in the sense that it barely felt like work for me, and more like hanging out with my friends in their neighborhood, an evening walk to their favorite park.

it’s genuinely hard for me to talk about joel + riley without crying lolol and i will be wearing no makeup to the wedding tomorrow in anticipating of weeping it off. celebrating a love like this is a reminder of why this job is the best in the world - being invited into your life, being told your love story and seeing it for what it is, all the things that got you there. to quote my friend Beautiful Mind, sometimes marriage feels impossible, but the point is to vow to be there for “the good, the bad, the dark, the light - i’ll be with you till we get it right.”

no wedding day is perfect, but it can be one of the best days you’ve ever fu***ng had if you let it.

A reminder that booking for the outdoor pet portraits is still live! The event isn’t until June 28, so you still have time to sign up!!!

each slot is a 25 minute session to allow for time for your animal to settle so we can get some good, quality images! each session will come with 15-30 digital images and a "doggy bag" gift, complete with homemade treats. sessions are $250/each!

cat + dog treats will be provided at both sessions, and I will have a "handler/helper" (aka my husband) there as well. please feel free to bring any additional sets of hands you feel you need, special toys to help keep your animals attention, and the appropriate leash/collars necessary to make sure your animal is safe!

to know cass + joe is a gift. without a doubt, they are one of the easiest couples i’ve ever worked with in my 5 years. not because their day was particularly laid back (we had a very full 10 hours) - but because to know them is to love them immediately. to know them is to know two people who were planning a wedding for the real reasons - they were GIDDY to marry each other. a little kid, best friend type love that is evident in every look, every touch, every joke passed between them. to know them, the things they had accomplished and overcome to get to that alter together, lit a fire in me to serve them like no other.

saturday was perfect. weather was blue skies and white clouds overhead, sunny and 70s. timeline went off without a hitch, vendors from all over the city came together to celebrate these two at Cassie’s dream venue at , to see her + Joe’s dreams of an elegant, classic day with a catholic ceremony, trolley ride around the city with their best people, before a delicious dinner and dance floor fun (+ fatheads of their dog Norman, pics to come) wrapped the day. celebrating their love was one of the easiest things i’ve ever done - here’s to a lifetime of it 🍾
