I was told by one of the most reputable painters around, KC, that this tank was fubared and unfixable. The tank would have to be replaced, and painted to match... Im sure lots of people out there have been told the same thing. There are some gas tanks out there that are not replaceable, Super Glide and Low Rider tanks are of those unicorns, a Low Rider tank with a dent like that will easily sell for $800. My friend Chris Busche took a look at it and said "give me a week". As you can see he pulled the dent, and buffed the scratches out, perfectly! Did not replace the tank, and did not have to repaint it! If you have a tank with a dent that your told cannot be fixed, holler at me Performance Motorcycle Engineering LLC. can get you fixed up for less money and better results than anyone in the region. The repair cost on this was $400.

Movin forward on a couple projects this week. I started getting all the parts weighed for balancing a crank shaft on a '73 Ironhead motor Im building. I also started modifying some parts for a custom bobber Im building. Stay tuned as these will be some pretty intricate builds, and Ill go into some detail about the process of each.
